United Way Day of Caring

Wed, Aug 17th 2016 03:00 pm

Our friends at Baker Victory Services would like to thank the wonderful volunteers who gave our agency a hand today through the annual United Way Day of Caring (#DOC2016BFLO).  Representatives from Public Employees Federation Local 215 and the IRS of Buffalo and Western New York lent their time and talents to a pair of projects: some painted the interior of one of our youth residential sites, while others worked to spruce up the community garden found on Steelawana Street in Lackawanna.

Throughout the morning, smiles, laughter and "whistling while working" were abundant.  One volunteer in particular mentioned he was thrilled to volunteer at BVS because his grandparents had lived in the area and he had heard many stories about Father Baker while growing up!

A very special thank you goes to all of the new friends we made today.
